The government has shut down Citizen TV.
The decision was arrived at after the media station refused to stop live coverage of Raila’s Swearing in.
The move came a day after Kenya Editors Guild Chairman Linus Kaikai alleged that after editors were summoned to State House, media houses were threatenedthat their licences would be revoked if they covered National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga’s swearing-in at Uhuru Park.
The station had been transmitting live coverage of NASA supporters at Uhuru Park and other locations since the morning.
The government may also shut down NTV if they continue covering events of NASA from Uhuru Park.
At the moment,thousands of NASA supporters are trooping to Uhuru Park to witness the swearing in of Raila Odinga.The whole country is waiting to see what will unfold after the event.
