I like explaining my points using practical cases. Today I am featuring Long Tail Keywords, something most bloggers aren’t aware of…I was also guilt of this a few years ago.
What I know is that when any blogger hits the road, they write anything and everything. Frustrations start dominating their thoughts when they find their articles not ranking as nice as they anticipated. At this point, long tail keyword concept becomes useful. I learnt about this idea in 2012 when I wrote an article about breaking news and that article didn’t attract as many readers as I had anticipated. I felt frustrated. This is what I had posted,”This Kenyan politician died today, see Who? Others had posted,”Saitoti is dead”.I later realized I had missed something, to mention the name Saitoti.People were searching for,”Is Saitoti dead?” The fact that I missed to mention the name Saitoti denied my site over 100,000 views, which translates to over Ksh 5,000 in income.
Long time ago, Google used to rank sites based on single key words, but over time, they changed their algorithm such that articles with exact words readers are keying in when searching content online are given best rank. Assuming a reader was searching for “best private universities in Nairobi CBD”,then you find one blogger has posted, “best universities in Nairobi and another one has content that reads, “best universities in Nairobi CBD”.Google will rank the second blogger’s content above the first blogger since it has the exact words someone typed .Due to this scenario, a blogger needs to learn few tips on how to use long tail keywords.
When trying to spy on your neighbours’ content, you will realize that some blogs have never risen in ranking over time while others have become so popular that everyone knows something about them. This is as a result of how the people behind the popular blogs are using long tail keywords. These guys know that tools like LongTail Keyword Pro do exist. This is one tool more than 20,000 bloggers are currently using to search for the right long tail keywords. The tool is heavily utilized because bloggers have realized competition is stiff and for them to beat their rivals and continue remaining afloat, they have to get it correct all the time when choosing Keywords.
If you’re a blogger, this is a tool you should not ignore; you will realize there is a lot you’ve been missing and within no time your blog will become viral. You can click here to sign up for free.
