Kitui residents have done it again—they have burnt a vehicle carrying charcoal.
The residents had gathered at Kitui shopping centre after they heard that a Probox was carrying charcoal from the outskirts.
Few minutes of waiting witnessed a white Probox approaching. Several of the residents had carried petrol with jerricans, they stopped the car, which came to a halt immediately and all the occupants dashed to the forest. The residents poured petrol on the almost brand new probox and burnt it completely, resulting to the following.
Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu has declared war on charcoal traders.She has completely banned charcoal burning,selling and cutting of trees in her jurisdiction. This has resulted to residents taking the law unto their hands.
