Kenya Police has clarified that they haven’t advertised for recruitment as stated on social media.The body has took to Facebook to warn Kenyans against falling for the trap of fraudsters.
The Kenya Police’s message reads:
“BEWARE OF FRAUDSTERS
The National Police Service wishes to inform the general public that we have not announced any Police recruitment dates. When recruiting,we publicize the exercise via major dailies,radio stations,television and also share the same information on our website and social media accounts/pages.
However,we have received reports of fraudsters targeting innocent members of the public and extorting money from them in the name of helping them secure employment in the service. We wish to caution the public that we have not announced any recruitment dates and no fee is required for one to be recruited into the service. Appropriate action will be taken to ensure that the culprits are brought to book. ^KM”
Last week,a man by the name Robin Chirchir Chirchir announced on Facebook that Kenya Police is recruiting thousands of police officers. The idea behind his announcement was to have several Kenyans pay for the recruitment exercise.
