US President Barack Obama has jetted into the country,becoming the first sitting US President to set foot in the Kenyan soil.The plane which was carrying him landed at JKIA at 8 pm amid cheers from the crowd which had gathered at the busy airport.

He is expected to be in the country for three days where he will meet President Uhuru Kenyatta,opposition leader Raila Odinga,Civil Society,dignitaries at UN headquarters in Gigiri and members of the public at Kasarani stadium.

While alighting ,Obama was welcomed by President Uhuru Kenyatta,her sister Auma Obama alongside other senior government officials.

JOANNE WAMAITHA is the name of this lucky girl who has made history as the 1ST KENYAN to ever shake the hand of a SITTING US PRESIDENT.She is an orphan who schools at Mama Ngina Children’s home.

Obama shook her hand vigorously and later gave her a warm hug as she accepted flowers from the innocent girl.He  later proceeded to greet other people who had gathered to receive him.

President Uhuru Kenyatta receiving Obama at JKIA,they exchanged hugs and warm greetings and few words,symbolizing good relationship which the two countries have shared for centuries.

After being welcomed,Obama entered his beast together with his sister Auma Obama,whom she had promised to return a hand after giving him a ride in her Volkswagen Beetle several years ago.

The plane carrying Barack Obama left Washington on Thursday Evening for Kenya and it’s expected in Nairobi on Friday evening.

Already ,Journalists have been instructed to attend security briefing at 5.30pm after which they will be dismissed until 7.30pm.They have also been ordered to leave their equipments at least 75 meters away from where Obama’s plane will land.

The control tower is now under the Control of the Secret Service and Kenyan Authorities are ‘just’ taking instructions.

Mombasa Road and Waiyaki Way have been closed and no vehicle is allowed near the highway.

The Air force one is expected to land at JKIA any time from 8pm.Obama will then address the media,board the beast and head straight to State House.

US President Barack Obama Left Washington on Thursday evening in a Marine One chopper which took off from White House lawn for Kenya.

He was seen off by top security officers and other members of the government.The plane is expected to arrive in Kenya on Friday evening at around 8 pm.

He will be received by his host President Uhuru Kenyatta,US Ambassador to Kenya Robert Godec and other senior members of the Kenyan government.

Before leaving Washington,Obama took a photo with members of the cabinet and senior government officials who will accompany him to Kenya.

During his stay in Kenya ,MPESA services and Safaricom network will be disrupted from time to time,according to Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore.

Major roads like Mombasa Road,Uhuru Highway and Thika Road will temporarily be closed as part of his security.Also,members of the public will be restrained from getting near him,but allowed to gather and have a view of him from at least 20 metres from the main roads.

US President Barack Obama is expected in Kenya on Friday to attend the Global Entrepreneurship Summit which will last for three days.

During his visit ,he will tour Nairobi National Park,Kasarani Stadium and Kenyatta University,where he will give a talk.He will also meet President Uhuru Kenyatta at Sate House and also go to United Nations headquarters Gigiri.

Obama will also secretly meet relatives in Nairobi at undisclosed area,the last time they were together was in 2006 when he visited the country as a Senator.

Clearly,he will have a tight schedule which require flexibility;he will therefore not be accompanied by his family.

The issue of security is critical and securing the family of the American President is a big deal.The amount of resources required to secure the four is enormous.

President Obama alone will cost the US government over Sh.5 billion.

High court has ordered the Teachers Service Commission to effect the 50%-60% salary increment for teachers as earlier been ruled.

The ruling is a big blow to the Teachers Service Commission who had moved to court earlier this month to appeal the salary increment award granted by the industrial court.The court further instructed the TSC to implement the payment failure to which the court will dismiss the appeal.

The increment will force the National Treasury to factor in at least an additional Sh59.5 billion to cater for the increment.Currently Treasury allocates teachers Sh119 billion annually.

International Criminal Court Prosecutor Fatou Bensouda is set to terminate DP William Ruto and Journalist Joshua Sang cases in August.

Earlier in July, Bensouda requested the court to allow her use evidence presented to Ocampo by the Waki led Commission but the court refused to grant her the request, leaving her with a single option; to terminate the cases.
The prosecutor is set to address the court and inform them about her wish to terminate the cases and set the two free.

Ruto and Sang cases got a major boost when Bensouda’s key witness failed to appear in the court. The witness decided to withdraw in the last minute; he was the last witness.

Students of the University of Nairobi threatened to burn Obama’s tree,kill themselves in masses and even ur$nate on the school walls if Obama does not visit their institution.

Today the students  have burnt a tree which Obama planted at the institution in 2006.What is remaining is to commit suicide as promised.

US President Barack Obama’s famous car ‘the beast’ arrived in Kenya yesterday amid tight security.It was seen on Mombasa Road this morning doing road test and getting familiar to Kenyan roads ahead of Obama’s visit.

This is the exact car which Obama will be using during his three day visit to Kenya.It’s arguably one of the most secure cars in the world.

Another car which is even more sophisticated that the beast is Russian President’s car which is both  bullet and rocket proof and can assure the Russian President 100 percent security.

It also fueled at shell fuel station,Westlands,contrary to the belief that fueling was to be done in State House Nairobi.The presence of the car at the petrol station caught even the owners off guard as they did not indicate that they could fuel at the station.

A huge crowd gathered to have a rare view,for at least today,where they took several photos without any interference from the security officers.

All the cars which will be used during his tour are all parked at Westlands petrol station before they are driven to State House for parking.

Contrary to the popular believe that William Ruto will not meet Obama during his visit to Kenya,President Kenyatta has confirmed that the Deputy President will indeed shake Obama’s hand.

The President stressed that since Ruto is second in command he will have a chance to interact with the the son of Kogelo, but he will not be allowed to take a photo with Obama.

Since Ruto has a case in the International Criminal Court,there are indications that Obama may snub him during his visit.

In July,2015 International Criminal Court Prosecutor Fatou Bensouda told the court that she has no sufficient evidence against William Ruto and Journalist Joshua Sang.Their cases are expected to be terminated soon.
