    After Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) Governor, Patrick Njoroge ,declined to meet CORD leader,Raila Odinga,over Eurobond saga, State House has responded to the former Prime Minister.

    Below is the response:

    “PRESS STATEMENT:

    APRIL 21, 2016

    RESPONSE TO RAILA’S EUROBOND CLAIMS

    CORD Leader Raila Odinga was requested by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) to provide information and voice his concerns. He rudely rejected the invitation.

    He was again invited by Treasury Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich, who published all relevant documentation on the ministry website, and again, Odinga rebuffed the invitation.

    It is interesting to note that the invitation to Odinga to Treasury for a face-to-face encounter was intended to serve the purposes, which he required of the Central Bank Governor.

    It is clear that Odinga is not interested in facts, information, data or documents because he has publicly refused to receive them.

    Odinga craves confrontation, farce and crass spectacle, which he obsessively stages to garner attention.

    An unfortunate effect of Odinga’s crude politics is the undermining of important public institutions. The country cannot afford to sacrifice the credibility of its institutions just to pacify Odinga and stop his tantrums.

  • Did Raila Meet William Ruto Yesterday!

     

    Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga met Deputy President William Ruto at a Nairobi hotel, sources say.

    Though the agenda of the meeting is not known, it is believed the two met on Wednesday night to discuss political matters as well as succession politics.

    DP Ruto, who is now a free man after being saved by President Kenyatta at the ICC, is believed to have agreed to meet Raila after it emerged that the DP would heavily rely on Luo, Kalenjin and Luhya votes in his 2022 presidential bid. He is, therefore, keen to have Raila on his side so as to have a smooth ride in 2022.

    CORD leader Raila Odinga is also unsettled man after his co-principals, Moses Wetangula and Kalonzo Musyoka, showed interest of leaving the CORD coalition.

    As 2017 general election fast approaches,Raila is keen to have Ruto on his side, especially this time when the DP does not issues with the law.

  • SAD! Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) Killed My Wife, here is evidence. A Man Cries

     

    A Kenyan man by the name Muyonga Plumbing Kenya has blamed Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) for neglecting his wife to death.

    The man claims that his wife was transferred to KNH from Tigoni Hospital for Kidney treatment but the doctors at KNH watched as she died.

    “Kenyatta National Hospital just killed my wife, I had every document from Tigon Hospital @ Limuru to go direct to the kidney doctor @ KNH but they threw away all of those papers and started their test for two days imagine for emergency, my wife died without any attendance from KNH doctors only what they did it to take her on oxygen when she fainted, They told me to go home promising me to take care of her but they called me yesterday morning telling me that there’s emergency but when I reached there they told me she didn’t make, but the truth is that she fainted alone on bed and falls down and died”,said Muyonga.

    In a Facebook post,Muyonga cries for justice after losing his wife at the largest referral hospital in Kenya.

    We took time to investigate whether fish business is profitable, or is just a risk venture.

    We visited several estates within Nairobi, and from what we sampled, the business is extremely profitable.

    One seller intimated to us that in a good day, she can make up to Ksh 7,000.The seller is located at City Market Nairobi.

    When we visited Kawangware, area dominated by lower and middle class, several fish sellers told us that they won’t miss pocketing Sh 1,000 a day even though there are over 20 fish sellers in the estate.

    We established that areas where fish business is most profitable in Nairobi include Embakasi, Gikomba, City Market, Githurai,Kitengela,Kibera,Kahawa ,Rongai,and Thika.In all these places, fish business is thriving.

    To start the business,an individual requires a capital of as little as Ksh 10,000;that is if you are selling in an open air market. But if you need a fridge and a room where you will put up the business,Sh 80,000 is enough to start.

    You can source the fish from Gikomba, Muthurwa or City Market.But fish from Gikomba market are cheaper.

     

  • Two Kenyans, Nash Muraya and Alex Ngatia, arrested in the US state of Oregon after an armed robbery.

     

    Two Kenyans, Nash Muraya and Alex Ngatia, were arrested on Wednesday in the US State of Oregon after botched robbery.

    The suspects reportedly fled the scene with police in hot pursuit. Nash Muraya, 21, and Alex Ngatia, 20, are both charged in connection with the incident in Southeast Portland on Sunday night.

    The victim told police he was robbed at gunpoint by a man who fled the scene in a car with two other people inside. Police officers traced the vehicle and tried to stop it but the driver took off and a high-speed chase ensued. The car was found abandoned in the area after officers deployed a spike strip on the vehicle’s tires.

     

  • Trump and Clinton win New York primaries

     

    Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, front-runners in the race to be the US presidential candidates for the Republican and Democratic parties, have secured comfortable victories in the crucial New York primary election.

    Mrs Clinton, after beating Bernie Sanders, said her victory for the Democratic nomination was in sight.

    Mr Trump looked set to take nearly all the 95 Republican delegates at stake.

    He said his nearest rival Ted Cruz was “just about mathematically eliminated”.

    With more than 98% of the results in, Mr Trump is leading with just over 60% of the vote while Mrs Clinton has just under 58%.

    US networks projected that Mr Trump had won in his home state barely seconds after the polls closed at 21:00 EDT (01:00 GMT).

    Speaking at Trump Tower in Manhattan, he said: “I have to say to the people that know me the best – the people of New York – when they give us this kind of a vote it’s just incredible.”

    He said he was going to get more delegates than “anyone projected even in their wildest imaginations”.

    Third-placed John Kasich picked up three delegates in New York.

    Donald Trump needed a commanding victory, and he got it. Although the results in the state’s 29 congressional districts – which allocate three convention delegates apiece – have yet to be finalised, it appears likely that Mr Trump will claim the lion’s share of the 95 delegates at play.

    Perhaps even more importantly, however, is the new, restrained Donald Trump on the campaign trail in the past few days. Gone are the incendiary tweets bashing his opponents (and their spouses). Instead on Tuesday night the candidate gave a short speech hammering home his economic message, emphasising his delegate and vote lead, and laying the groundwork to argue that he should be the party’s nominee even if he doesn’t win the 1,237 delegates necessary to claim the nomination outright.

    Mr Trump recently brought in several experienced political hands to manage his campaign after a turbulent few weeks. If this new demeanour is part of the change they have inspired, Mr Trump could prove to be a more formidable opponent not just at the ballot box in upcoming primaries but in the contest to win over those in the party still deeply suspicious of his candidacy.

    “Tomorrow, we go back to work,” Mr Trump said during his victory speech. It was a very un-Trump-like line – and something that should have his opponents very concerned.

    Mrs Clinton told supporters her campaign for the nomination was “in the home stretch and victory is in sight”.

    “New Yorkers, you’ve always had my back and I’ve always tried to have yours,” she said. “Today together we did it again and I am deeply, deeply grateful.”

    It had been a fierce campaign in the state, with Mrs Clinton – a former New York senator – and Mr Sanders – born in Brooklyn – using their local ties to attract voters.

    The Democratic campaign has turned increasingly negative, with Mrs Clinton and Mr Sanders trading barbs about their qualifications.

    But following the latest result in the race for the Democratic nomination, Mrs Clinton said there was “much more that unites us than divides us”.

  • KCB Acquires Chase Bank; All Chase Bank Branches To Re-Open on 27/4/2016

     

    Central Bank of Kenya has confirmed that Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) has reached agreement with the Kenya Deposit Insurance Corporation to take over Chase Bank. In addition, Chase bank branches countrywide will re-open on 27th April, 2016.

    A statement circulated to the newsrooms by CBK says in parts:

    “All Chase Bank Limited (In Receivership) branches will open by Wednesday, April 27 2016.The online and mobile banking services will also become available.

    CBL customers will have immediate access to their deposits up to a maximum of Ksh 1 million”.

    This is good news to more than 500,000 Chase bank customers.

    Internship is a wonderful experience for students as well as fresh graduates who intend to feel the atmosphere at the work place. But without salary, interns often feel the heat of spending without earning. Though many companies don’t pay interns, there are few firms that pay small stipend to interns and temporary employees.

    To begin with, most government companies and institutions, especially ministries, don’t pay interns, but there are a few that consider the plight of the interns. One such institution is Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).

    If you manage to get internship at KRA, you can earn as high as Sh 60,000 per month.

    Another institution that pays interns is Kenya Ports Authority (KPA).Sometimes you may not earn anything but occasionally you will get some pocket money.

    KEMRI also pays interns, and the goodness of working at the government institution is that you can be offered a job.

    If you manage to get internship at KAA, Kengen or Kenya Power, chances of getting paid are high. Those who have worked in the institutions before say they used to be paid small pocket money.

    Research companies like Ipsos Synovate, Infotrak and Consumer insight also pay interns especially when assigned duties concerning field work.

    Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO), almost all of them, pay interns, but it’s hard to get internship at NGOs.

    Insurance companies like Kenindia,CFC life,Madison and many other insurance companies pay interns.

    It is hard to get paid in banks while working as an intern.However,Equity bank  and cooperative pay

    There was drama in Benin when a married woman and a boyfriend were stuck for 24 hours while making love.

    It is reported that the woman’s husband had suspected that his wife of 12 years had been giving her‘honey’ to a stranger. He proceeded to a witch doctor who did what he does best.

    The following day, the unfaithful wife invited her boyfriend to the matrimonial bed. After enjoying for just one minute, the man started feeling unusual pain, but he continued with the act. But when the pain persisted, he screamed for help.

    Villagers arrived to witness how the two were tightly glued to each other.

     Luo Women

  • Kim Jong-un Bans Jeans, Ponytails and Piercings in North Korea

     

    In a latest crackdown on western fashion, North Korean Leader, Kim Jong-un has prohibited the North Koreans from having piercings on any other part of the body other than the ear for earrings. That’s not all; wearing jeans, having ponytails and some other ‘western’ fashion have all been banned as part its “clean-up” ahead of its annual workers conference. They also check the length of skirts, the shape of shoes, Tshirts and hairstyles.

    A Japanese journalist, Ishimaru Jiro, working with citizen reporters inside North Korea stated that an increasing number of North Koreans are obsessed with Western culture. The crackdown will continue until the end of the upcoming gathering (the 7th Congress).’

    Kim Jong-un launched the crackdown focusing on areas close to China border where citizens have easier access to information – and cultural trends – from the outside world.
    The ban was uncovered by citizen journalists at Rimjin-gang, a North Korean news website supported by AsiaPress.

    The regime severely opposes Western culture in any form and has been known to send those guilty to its notorious labour camps.

    “A growing number of North Korean people are infatuated with Western culture,” said Ishimaru Jiro, a Japanese reporter who works with citizen journalists inside the regime.

    “The crackdown will continue until the end of the upcoming gathering,” he added, referring to the upcoming 7th Congress of the Workers’ Party.
    It was also claimed that “inspection units,” consisting of teenagers dedicated to leader Kim Jong-un, are prowling the streets for those who dare to break the dress code.
    They are also required to have a particular hairstyle.

    The North Korean Youth Union (NKYU) consist of members who sign up once they reach the age of 15 the Union also hunt for unmarried women doing business in marketplaces, as this is also prohibited.
    Members of this Union are sworn to prevent “the corruption of public morals.”

    North Korea has previously told its male citizens to adopt spartan Socialist hairstyles no longer than three of four inches.
    The campaign, dubbed “Let’s trim our hair in accordance with the socialist lifestyle” which is meant to control grooming and dress standards.

     

  • Robert Mugabe Welcomes first Grand Child

     

    Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe is now a grandfather after his daughter,Bona, gave birth to a baby boy.

    The 92-year-old held a lavish party to celebrate the great news and new experience.

    Psychology Maziwisa, a Zanu-PF MP for Highfield West in Harare, posted on Facebook: “Congratulations to [Mugabe’s daughter] Bona and Simba Chikore on the birth of their baby boy. I’m absolutely delighted for them.”

    “Wishing them lots of excitement, happiness, and hopefully some sleep!” he added.

    Bona is Mugabe’s first child with his second wife, Grace.

  • Jacob Juma Confirms Uhuru Beat Raila in 2017

     

    Raila Odinga sympathizer, Jacob Juma has confirmed President Uhuru Kenyatta will win the next general election by a landslide.

    A controversial statement posted on his Facebook handle reveals that Uhuru will garner more than 51 % of the total votes to beat his closest rival, Raila Odinga.

    He warns that unless Luhya community registers over 4 million votes, Raila should forget about the presidency.

    This is what he posted:

    “Fellow Kenyans, if elections are held today, Mr. Uhuru Kenyatta will win the elections. That is the naked truth. After the recent registration exercise by IEBC, Jubilee stronghold areas of Gema have 5.4million registered voters, 1.6m Kalenjins and 0.38m Somalis. Minus Nairobi and Maasailand, Uhuru has 7.36 million voters against CORD’s 1.7m Luhyas, 1.4m Luos, 1.1m Kambas, 0.66m Kisii and 0.9m Coast giving a total of 5.76 million less Nairobi and Maasailand. CORD MUST work hard and register many Luhyas up to 4 million, Luos, Kisiis, Kambas, and Coastal people, otherwise, they should forget presidency. Numbers never lie. I hate lies. Better be told the truth now and rectify the problem than be lied to and suffer the consequences”.

    Stella was evicted from her office last week, but her anger didn’t allow the Besigye sympathizer to keep calm, she removed her clothes for the world to see.
